Since the initial establishment of our Adapted Sports Program, the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute has been committed to growing its resources and service offerings, to shape the program into one that can meet the needs of our community. While substantial grounds have been made, with three active sports programs and an annual Adapted Sports Festival that draws more and more interest and participation each year, the vision and goals for the future are significant.
The University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute is preparing to embark on a multi-year, multi-million dollar capital campaign, with focus on a single goal: construct and open a state-of-the-art Adapted Sports Complex. Our vision is to operate a facility that will provide the members of our community an opportunity to explore and learn new sports, gain independence and self-confidence and achieve greater health and overall well-being. With the opening of this new facility, the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute can become a true "destination" for people near and afar, who are interested in adapted sports.
The initial planning phases of this project are underway. Please check this page on a regular basis for news, updates and information on how you can get involved with supporting our efforts and visions for the future of this facility.
