Parent Tips for Detecting Scoliosis

Idiopathic scoliosis may go unnoticed in a child because it is rarely painful. Parents should watch for the following symptoms:

  • Uneven shoulders/Leaning to one side
  • Prominent shoulder blade(s)
  • Uneven waistline
  • Elevated or uneven hips
  • Curving spine that looks like an "S" or "C" when viewed from behind
