Visiting Hours are Defined as Follows:
Inpatient Units - 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
These times are identified allowing time for the patient to rest in preparation of daily activities.
Progressive Care Unit
Open 24 hours with authorization from PCU staff after consultation with the patient, as appropriate.
Patient has the right to have visitors; patient may wish to have a support person present during treatment.
Patient has the right to have visitors; patient may wish to have a support person present during his/her examination by physician.
Only two visitors are recommended to visit a patient at any one time, however, the number and hours are at the discretion of the patient's nurse and/or clinical area.
A patient is allowed to have a designated person. This person must be 18 years of age and able to provide emotional support. This person can be alternated per the patient's wishes. This designated support person can have access to the patient 24 hours a day, 7 days a week unless deemed inappropriate by the health care team, or if their presence interferes with patient care, compromises others' rights, safety, or is no longer therapeutic. This is considered a special visitation request outside of defined hours and may be approved by the Patient Care Manager (PCM) or designee after collaborating with the health care team.
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children under the age of 12 may visit at the discretion of the patient's nurse and/or clinical area. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to visit a patient in isolation.
During the flu season limitations to visitation will supercede this policy.
