The Adapted Sports Program maximizes participation for individuals with disabilities in adapted recreational and competitive sports, in order to promote independence, self-confidence, health and overall well-being through structured, individual and team sports.
The Adapted Sports Program will be the regional leader in providing sports opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities. We will serve as a resource for individuals searching for sports programs in conjunction with our community partners in the area of adapted sports.
Be an integral part of the greater community by performing outreach activities to help other disabled individuals enjoy the benefits of adapted sports and to educate the public on adapted sports opportunities.
Encourage athletes to be community leaders and role models for people with disabilities.
Enable participants to realize their potential and instill a sense of pride and confidence, focusing on their abilities, not disabilities.
Promote a healthy, active, independent lifestyle, enhancing participants' overall quality of life.
Partner with our community's adapted sports providers to enhance availability of adapted sports programs.
Integrate family and friends into shared sports and recreational pursuits.
