The orthopaedic team at the UM Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute Scoliosis and Spine Center provides medical, physical and rehabilitative care in state-of-the-art facilities. UM Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute is the designated orthopaedic hospital of the University of Maryland Medical System.
Nationally recognized for excellence in orthopaedics for more than 100 years, our facility provides sophisticated orthopaedic services on a beautiful 85-acre campus conveniently located just two miles from the Baltimore Beltway.
Home of the William Donald Schaefer Rehabilitation Center, the UM Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute is the only fully dedicated rehabilitation hospital in Maryland.
The Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Program at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute is especially designed to help ndividuals with spinal cord injury or dysfunction reach their highest level of independent living.
Education and Support
- Spinal Cord Injury Support Group:
Second Tuesday of every month from 6-8 p.m. in the Spinal Cord Injury gym.
- Patient Education Class:
1:30 a.m.-12 noon every Tues., Wed., Thur., and Sat.
